SARS-CoV-2 Receptor Binding Domain ACE2 Complex 6M17

Featured Image

The SARS-CoV-2 Spike Glycoprotein is a key target for vaccines, therapeutic antibodies, and diagnostics. Biologic Models designed this 3D printed protein model of the SARS-CoV-2 Receptor Binding Domain (RBD) ACE2 Receptor Complex 6M17 to help research scientists and the general public better understand how SARS-CoV-2 binds ACE2 Receptors.

SARS-CoV-2 Receptor Binding Domain ACE2 Complex 6M17

The Receptor Binding Domain of the SARS-CoV-2 Spike Glycoprotein (PDB ID: 6M17 seen below) bindings the ACE2 Receptors using residues found in the RBD’s Binding Motif (dark green). Identification of residues that form bonds between the Spike RBD and ACE2 is necessary to identify mutations that may alter or evade immune responses.
