Description
This is a 3D print of Glucagon-Like Peptide-1 Unbound 1DOR in full-color Sandstone. GLP-1 is colored blue and its active binding site yellow. In grey is the residue (already removed) clipped off by DPP-4, GLP-1 natural inhibitor. Protein model designed to be used with a 3D printed protein model of GLP-1 Receptor to demonstrate GLP-1 binding.
Protein Description
GLP-1 (glucagon-like peptide-1) is an incretin released from intestinal L-cells in response to food intake. Activation of the GLP-1 receptor potentiates the synthesis and release of insulin from pancreatic beta-cells in a glucose-dependent manner.
