Description

Shiga toxins are expressed by in bacteria by genes considered to be from the genome of a lambdoid virus. Named after Kiyoshi Shiga, who first described the bacterial origin of dysentery. The 3D structure of the holotoxin, an AB5 hexamer, visualizes five B subunits forming a pentameric ring that encircles a helix at the carboxy terminus of the A subunit.

Model Description

This 3D printed protein model of a Shiga Toxin is visualized as a volumetric surface and colored to visualize each chain uniquely.
