Instructions

After you’ve downloaded the app, use it and the QR code below to trigger the app to launch the crystal structure.

Launch the Biologic Explorer app and point your smartphone camera at this QR Code. The app will recognize this image and load a digital 3D model of CRISPR into your phone.  If you’ve purchased a 3d print of the CRISPR Cpf1 Base, the bottom of the base has the same QR code to launch the 3D model of CRISPR Cpf1. Toggle on and off different protein structures to learn more about how CRISPR removes viral DNA (green) using guide RNA (red) as a template to find specific DNA codes.

3D Print of CRISPR Cpf1 Protein Model and Base

Model Description

This is a 3D print of CRISPR Cpf1 created in full-color sandstone. The model depicts CRISPR (blue) bound to its guide RNA (red) while editing its Target DNA (yellow and green). The subtle color variations in the CRISPR are associated with its bFactor, or atomic temperature. The darker the color, the less the protein moves with a cooler atomic temperature.
